Letter to the Children/Young People
Dear Children and Young People,

We would like to invite you to take part in ‘The Who Will Save Us? Children's & Young People's Project.’ This involves raising money which you spend to help stop climate change, and help with other problems which have happened because of climate change.

Rebecca has written a picture book called ‘Who Will Save Us?’. It contains a lovely story about the penguins of Antarctica and how climate change is affecting them. It has a very positive and happy ending, and lots of information on how everyone can help.

Your schools and groups raise the money by selling the books. Obviously, the more books that are sold, the more money is made. You may like to help with selling the books, and even have a special event to do it, and invite your local community.

We would then like you to decide how to spend this money to help with climate change issues. You may decide to spend it on one or several ideas, from 'Greening-up' your own school or club, to donating money to charities/projects. The book will give you plenty of information and contacts to help you find out about climate change, and many ideas on how you could spend the money (also see our ideas page, on the website).

We ask you to work together on this project, just like it says in the ‘Who Will Save Us?’ book, "Humans are clever and caring. When they all work together they can make amazing things happen quickly."

This project may help your school or group with environmental or other awards, like 'Eco-Schools' awards.

It would be really great to hear from you afterwards. We have written some questions for your teachers and leaders to ask you, like, "What did you spend the money on?", and, "Did you enjoy the project?" We will aim to put as many of your answers as we can on our website, since we are sure others will be helped and inspired by your fantastic actions. If you also tell everybody what you have achieved, they are bound to be inspired to take positive action to help with climate change issues too!

We will send your school/group a certificate to mark your great achievement, and to say thank you.

We hope you will get involved with this project, and that you will have a lot of fun doing it!

We look forward to hearing from you.

With best wishes, Rebecca and John
